The Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) was formally established at the 1997 Copenhagen conference.

The OHBM meeting aims to gather together scientists using modern, functional brain mapping techniques such as PET, SPECT, fMRI, EEG, MEG, optical imaging and neuroanatomical tools for assessing the functional organization of the human brain. The meetings focus on neuroscience and applications of these techniques to study sensory and motor systems, vision, attention, memory and language in normal and pathological states. Theoretical and methodological issues are a central component as they enable and inform these neuroscience endeavours.

Membership of the OHBM is open to professionals (including students) from all disciplines engaged in or supporting functional and structural mapping of the human brain.
