Global climate change…Think about it!
The Green Event approach that is being undertaken by the 14th Annual Meeting of the Organisation for Brain Mapping is an LOC inititative. This approach entails hosting events in a responsible fashion taking into account environmental, social and economic decisions to minimise the impacts of large numbers of people. A green event aims to reduce those negative impacts, increase awareness regarding the importance of sustainable development and leave behind a positive greening legacy.
This will involve:
- Reducing paper use for the event through encouraging electronic approaches;
- Working with the venue and other suppliers to encourage going beyond the current recycling and waste reduction approaches and moving towards accelerating sustainable business practises.
CO2 Emission Offsets:
We would like to encourage you to neutralise your greenhouse gas emissions created by travelling to this event by purchasing emissions offsets. There will be an opportunity to donate money along with your registration fee towards an National Australian company involved in climate care, or to your organisation of choice. More information on this will be available in mid 2007. In the meantime please see below for recommended organisations.
